Saying 'I can't' is a poor excuse. You can. You're just choosing not to. If this is something that you do all the time, read on to find out what you can start saying instead... What have you been telling yourself that you ‘can’t’ do? People who say that they can’t usually do just that. What you focus on, will happen. If you continually using dialogue that includes words like ‘can’t’ then you will stop yourself from doing whatever it is that you are trying to do. If there is one statement to throw away right now, it’s ‘I can’t’. Because you can, everyone can if they want to. What you’re actually saying is that you’re choosing not to. Saying ‘I can’t’ actually just means ‘I won’t’. Because you CAN. You’re just choosing not to. You’ve got two arms, two legs, a heartbeat and one hell of a goal to achieve. You put in your application and you are dedicated to this process, so you CAN. Ultimately, by telling yourself that you can’t do this, that you can’t run or that you can’t do push ups, you are putting up walls around your ability to achieve. You are self sabotaging what would ultimately be a very enjoyable and successful process for you.
You have made the decision to join the Military or Police so now you need to step up and do what’s required in order to be successful. You have a healthy body that can do all the things you need it to (provided you've passed medical). You just need to put in some hard work to ensure your deficiencies are brought up to scratch because no one is perfect at everything.
