SEAN Cornish - dietitianI’m fortunate enough to work alongside my wife and we just love what we do! My love of fitness and nutrition comes from my early teens when I struggled with my own weight issues. It was the process of improving and working on my fitness that provided insight into my desired career path.
Fitness provides the perfect playground for consistency and has immediate benefits, nutrition is where the heavy lifting is done in health. The best part is we all eat, with a small change at the next meal, you just get better! "keep it simple and succeed"

How it works
The process is as simple as filling out our pre-screening survey, scheduling our first catch up via skype/zoom/facetime and then our second troubleshooting/ accountability session. From there we get to work, we will take all that information, create your unique game plan, then work through that with you in our session. You then take those strategies and your implementation plan away and road test it for 2 weeks.
What success looks like we will pre-determine and assess against those criteria in our next session. From there, if you feel you would like some more nutrition coaching we can discuss it in line with the ADF and Police application process as we are continually benchmarking against your physical performance, with nutrition strategies in place prior to performance and for optimal recovery. We are provided real-time feedback into how effective our strategies have been and what tweaks we need to make.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does a dietitian do?
Dietitians are uniquely placed to connect the body and food. We are university qualified and regulated by the Dietitians Association of Australia to asses, diagnose, prescribe and monitor nutrition deficiencies. We are also trained in population-based research methods allowing us to comment on health trends, public health initiatives and provide evidence-based responses to current nutrition recommendations. How will it help?
I remember very early on in my career having the conversation with a friend at a BBQ, "I know what you're going to tell me" he said, "I already know what I need to do" to which I replied, "Well, why don't you do it?" The truth is in the nutrition space there is a lot of big promises, marketing messages and half-truths that do nothing but confuse people into buying the next potion or protocol that sits on their shelf before they get the courage up to 'try again'. If more information or the latest potion was the answer to the optimum version of ourselves. To work with a professional to take the confusion out of the process, simplify eating and allow you to fuel your optimal performance is what this process is all about. At the very least we take significant steps in preventing any long term deficiencies, food is the greatest preventative medicine we have access to and you're already eating, it's simple really isn't it. |
Do you write me out a meal plan?
Meal plans can be really helpful to a lot of people however in some instances they only add to the amount of pressure placed around food. In my professional experience, I have found Nutrition Coaching to be a far more valuable process. This is where we focus more on some really simple strategies for the implementation of advice, building your 'ideal meal plan' in the process. If a meal plan is all you're after then, of course, that's what we are trained to do. What if I'm a fussy eater?
The best part about being a Dietitian I believe is working at the individual level, focusing on what works for that individual. Your tastes and preferences are essential to what we prescribe, it's not a cookie-cutter, one size fits all. We need to make sure the strategies we put in place are going to be effective, that means they need to suit your tastes so you actually eat the food we decide on together! |
