So things escalated really quickly, hey? One minute we’re all doing some Sunday meal prep and getting ready to go to our Monday morning sessions and the next minute the Prime Minister announces that all gyms will close in about 16 hours. Um, what? But….. gym is my life.
TBG and COVID-19. What does this all mean?
So things escalated really quickly, hey?
One minute we’re all doing some Sunday meal prep and getting ready to go to our Monday morning sessions and the next minute the Prime Minister announces that all gyms will close in about 16 hours.
But….. gym is my life.
Don’t worry, we had a small freak out too. It all happened really fast but the good news is that we were prepared for it. Our freakout lasted for 90 seconds and then we put our helmets on and went into action. We already had a 3 phase plan so we were ready for anything. When the announcement happened last Sunday night, we were pushed straight to Phase 3.
Everyone would switch over to online coaching from home.
So that’s what's happening. Almost every single TBG member is now conducting online coaching from the comfort of their own homes. We’ve had some great examples of using whatever you have to make it work. People working out with their dogs, cats and kids. People using household equipment, gym equipment they’ve borrowed and their back yards.
It’s been amazing to see our members dive into online training head first and ensure that they don’t interrupt any momentum they’ve already gained with their current training. Training alone when you’re used to training with a group of people can be strange. It can be difficult to get motivated and to convince yourself to get it done when there are plenty of other distractions.
This is where we need to fall back on our original training principles. How bad do you want it?
Remember that the only thing that is going to get you through this uncertain time is consistency, discipline and hard work. Stick together and hold each other accountable. Get yourself a battle buddy and make sure you stay consistent.
If you want it bad enough then you’ll make sure you get it done. When all of this is over, life will return to a version of ‘normal’ and you want to be ready for whatever comes your way when it comes to your application. Don’t fall behind in your training just because the gym is closed. There is so much you can do at home. If you’re feeling lost then don't hesitate to get in contact with us.
Stay safe, stick together and make sure you’re looking after yourself.
Michael and Carly both have walked the path you are about to take and are commited to help you get started with your training for a successful enlistment with free tips and articles.
